Immediate Actions
If you are stopped or detained by ICE, follow these steps immediately
Assert Citizenship Immediately
State clearly and repeatedly:
"I am a U.S. citizen"
- Show citizenship documentation if available (passport, birth certificate, Real ID)
- Never lie or claim citizenship if untrue
- Provide your attorney's contact information
Invoke Constitutional Rights
Say these exact words:
"I invoke my Fourth and Fifth Amendment rights"
"I choose to remain silent"
"I want to speak to an attorney immediately"

Document Everything
Collect this information immediately:
- Badge numbers and agent names
- Vehicle license plate numbers
- Time, date, and exact location

CRITICAL: Do not sign anything without attorney review

- Wait for legal counsel before signing any paperwork

- Do not answer questions about birthplace or immigration status
- Anything you say can be used against you
- You have the right to an attorney
